Abstract

For nearly a decade, Chinese leader Xi Jinping has called for the "Great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,"--for China to strengthen itself at home and to claim greater centrality for itself on the global stage. But what does this mean in practical terms? What are China's ambitions for its place in the international system? How is it attempting to realize its objectives? And how likely is it to succeed? Dr. Elizabeth Economy shares insights on these issues from her new book, The World According to China , and provides guidance on how the international community can most effectively respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by Xi's transformative vision.
