About the speakers

Noureddine Miladi is Professor of media and communication and former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, at Qatar University. He is editor of Global Media Coverage of Palestinian-Israeli Conflict (Bloomsbury 2023)Global Media Ethics and the Digital Revolution’ (Routledge, 2022) and co-editor of Routledge Handbook of Arab Media, 2021, Routledge. 

His research interests include social media and social change, youth, identity and social media networks, media and democracy, media ethics and media in the Arab World.

Khalil Alagha is Lecturer in Digital Transformation and Digital Marketing at Ulster University. In addition to his academic experience, Dr Alagha has over 15 years of experience in Arab media setups. He has contributed to multiple clients' growth and competitive advantage, including developing robust digital and data strategies aligned with short- and long-term objectives.

Dr Alagha's research interests focus on the intersection of digital media and society. His current research is on the impact of digital media technologies on audience behaviour and society. He is also interested in the impact of digital media on youth and their perception of reality, identity formation, and socialisation processes.
