About the speaker
Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Bin Abd Kadir is Minister of Higher Learning, Malaysia. Dr Zambry's thought leadership runs parallel with his achievement as the Chief Minister of Perak (2008-2018) when he fostered bottom-up and inclusive policies that prioritized opportunities in employment and social improvement for middle-income groups. He was the Adjunct Professor at IIUM Malaysia and also the Professor in Practice at Putra Business School, UPM.
Dr Zambry has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of East London for his contribution to the prosperity and transformation of the State of Perak, holding a PhD in Political Thoughts from Temple University with expertise in the fields of political economy, contemporary South East Asian politics and contemporary Malaysian politics. Dr Zambry is currently a State Assemblyman in Perak and serves in the UMNO Supreme Council.
