About this event
The SOAS History Blog team invites you to be part of the audience of our special live podcasting event Poetic Knowledge and West African Histories.
This evening of performance and discussion features internationally acclaimed author and artist Véronique Tadjo, SOAS Department of Development and International Studies' Awino Okech, and SOAS Teaching Fellow Claire Nicholas. Our speakers will explore the intersections of poetry and story, history and legend, guided by feminist understandings of West Africa today.
This unique panel of authors and scholars features both recitals of Tadjo's poetry, and guest musical performance, all moderated by SOAS History Blog editor Ana Nenadović. Registration is essential as spaces are limited.
Audience members will be given considerable time to pose questions to our speakers, and you are warmly encouraged to invite students, fellow faculty and members of the general public to be part of this exciting evening.
Note: This is an in-person, live podcast recording event. Please contact for accessibility details and arrangements at soashistoryblog@soas.ac.uk.
