Dr Eric Greene (University of Bristol)
Bio
Dr Eric Greene is Lecturer in East Asian Religions at the Department of Religion and Theology, University of Bristol.
After completing his undergraduate degree in maths at the University of California, Berkeley (1995-1998) and working as a secondary school teacher, he returned to his studies in 2004, completing his PhD in Buddhist Studies (Berkeley) in 2012.
Dr Greene's research focuses on the history and development of Chinese Buddhism, Buddhist meditation practices in China, Chan/Zen Buddhism, Chinese translations of Buddhist texts, the transmission of Buddhism to China and Buddhism in the West.
