Biography

Ezgi B. Unsal is a lecturer in development economics at SOAS University of London.

Previously, she held teaching and research positions at Goldsmiths, SOAS, University of Winchester and Kadir Has University (Istanbul). Her areas of study are the political economy of development, financialisation and sustainable development. Her research mostly focuses on the Near Eastern and Mediterranean region, with primary experience in Turkey.

Her first book entitled Constructing Change: A Political Economy of Housing and Electricity Provision in Turkey was published in 2021, by Brill Publishers. She is coordinating the IIPPE Financialisation Working Group with Bruno Bonizzi, Hertfordshire University.
