Biography
Professor Hongping Lian is a doctoral supervisor, the deputy dean, director of Education Center for Master of Public Administration (MPA), and chief specialist of Research Center for Rural Governance at School of Government, Beijing Normal University. She received PhD in Sociology from University of Aberdeen, UK, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Public and International Affairs, City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include: rural land policy, urban and rural grass-roots governance, housing policy and political sociology. She has published three English academic monographs, three Chinese academic monograph and two textbooks, and over 50 papers in Land Use Policy, World Development, Journal of Contemporary China, Chinese Public Administration and other core academic journals both at home and abroad. She undertakes projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation, the National Rural Revitalization Administration, and the Ministry of Education, etc. In addition, she acts as the secretary-general of public administration discipline and MPA education union for normal universities and colleges nationwide.
