Biography
Before joining SOAS, Tareq was serving as an Associate Professor (Reader) of Law, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He obtained LLB Honours and LLM degrees from the same institution. For securing extraordinary results both in undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, Tareq was awarded Prime Minister as well as University Gold Medals. Again, Tareq attained an LLM in International Law (distinction) degree from the University of Keele, UK under the Commonwealth Scholarship.
Tareq is interested to research international law, international environmental law, climate change law, and international refugee law. At the same time, he taught a range of modules including the Law of Criminal Procedure, Law of Transfer of Property, and Land Law in public and private universities of Bangladesh.
