Thesis title
The Metamorphosis of the Greek Cuisine: Sociability, Precarity and Foodways of Crisis in Middle-Class Athens

Biography

Nafsika has a PhD in Anthropology from SOAS, University of London. Her research was on Greek cuisine, traditional foods, markets and restaurants, focusing on national and class identity, memory, and the Greek crisis. She has also worked on the interdisciplinary research project for the Skrei codfish of Museum Nord in Northern Norway. Nafsika is also a chef and consultant for artisan food companies, restaurants and food organisations. She holds an MA in the Anthropology of Food from SOAS, and an MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Her research interests include: Anthropology of food; Urban anthropology; Human-animal relationships; Nationalism; Memory; Tradition; Cultural heritage; Embodiment; Oral histories; Multi-species ethnography; Ethnographic writing; Greece; Norway; Europe.
