SOAS Impact Acceleration Account grants : Migration, displacement, minorities and marginalisation
The SOAS Impact Acceleration Account team is pleased to announce new impact grant opportunities for SOAS researchers and non-academic partners.
In 2023, SOAS successfully secured a 5-year, £1.25 million Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) from 2023-2028, to develop impact in the areas of migration, displacement, minorities and marginalisation.
As part of this initiative, SOAS IAA is offering competitive strategic grants and rapid response grants for collaborative projects between SOAS researchers and non-academic partners.
Impact grants
The SOAS IAA funds projects that aim to create greater impact from ongoing or recently concluded SOAS research in the areas of migration, displacement, minorities and marginalisation, through stakeholder engagement. Stakeholders may be research partners or research users from the public, private or third sectors.
Defining impact
The IAA grant isn’t a research grant, but an impact grant. This can include initial mapping/scoping activities or exercises to distil ongoing research to maximise its impact, but cannot fund the commencement of a new research project.
Two types of Impact Grants:
- Strategic Grants (PDF, 167KB): applications of £5,000 to £10,000 per project.
- Rapid Response Grants (PDF, 174KB): applications of £2,500 to £5,000 per project.
For more details on criteria, eligibility and assessment please review the full call papers: Strategic Grant (PDF, 167KB) and Rapid Response Gran (PDF, 174KB). Here are also the Introductory webinar presentation slides (PDF, 252KB).
