Biography
I originally qualified in electronic and communications engineering and I retired in 2013 after 36 years. From 1998 until 2016, I studied the Syriac language and Syriac Christian culture privately and then in 2016 I started my PhD studies at SOAS, University of London.
Research interests
- My main research interest is the Syriac gospel, its sources, its historical origins, its language and its use by different Christian communities.
- I am particularly interested in the Syriac Diatessaron gospel harmony which was composed by Tatian the Assyrian in the 2nd century AD.
- The history and development of Syriac Christianity
- The Judean Aramaic documents amongst the Dead Sea Scrolls
- The Syriac language and other Middle Aramaic dialects including Judean Aramaic
