Dr Teodora Todorova

Teodora is a Teaching Fellow in the Sociology department at Warwick. Prior to September 2016 she worked in the School of Sociology and Social Policy at The University of Nottingham. Her recent doctoral thesis (2013) explored the practices and narratives of three case study Israeli civil society groups responding to the call for decolonisation, right of return, and equality by Palestinian counterparts.

To date her research has concerned theories and practices of ethico-political responsibility in the context of ethno-nationalist conflict. She has published on gendered violence and post-conflict reconciliation in Bosnia Herzegovina, civil society commemoration of the Nakba, as well as activist debates on the one-state solution in Palestine-Israel.

More broadly, her work is concerned with grassroots activism and transnational civil society responses to gendered and racialised power and state violence. In 2015 she began work on a solo research project concerning transnational prisoner rights’ advocacy in Palestine-Israel.
