Course overview
This course at SOAS Language Centre in London is for learners who have completed the Pre-Advanced level in Persian and who wish to communicate in a wider range of situations.
The course is suitable for those who wish to further develop communicative skills in a wider range of contexts with the accent on practical spoken Persian. This course is delivered by the Language Centre.
Method
The course is taught in English and Persian and includes coverage of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and a good balance between understanding the systems of Persian grammar and vocabulary, developing the skills of comprehending and producing Persian in speech and writing, guided practice in language usage and use and authentic communicative activities. Class size is limited to fifteen to allow intensive interactive practice with individual feedback and advice on progress.
This will be achieved through 20 hours of blended learning: this is composed of 15 hours of online structured lessons with the teacher. This is supplemented by a minimum of 5 hours of guided independent learning supported by complementary material. The course objective will be achieved within the 10-week course.

Entry requirements
For applicants who are not currently students of Persian through the Language Centre, entry to the course is by assessment only. Applicants must email the admin team at nme@soas.ac.uk to arrange for an assessment at least two weeks before the start of the course.
